Octocon teams up with The Children's Book Festival
2008-04-23
Don't be surprised if you see more young fans at Octocon than usual this year.
Octocon will be featuring as part of the programming of the Children's Book Festival, which runs for the entire month of October.
As Octocon is back in the city centre we are teaming up with Children's Books Ireland, organisers of the Festival, to help publicise the great fantasy and science fiction works being published for young readers, many of which are by home-grown Irish authors.
Octocon has a long history of inviting writers of great books for children: Anne McCaffery, Tanith Lee, Orson Scott Card and Terry Pratchett among them; the classic works of children's literature have often features science-fiction and fantasy themes. With all that in mind; we thought cross promoting with the children's book festival would be a great fit.
